3-2-11 Making progress

Today we continued working on the spare robot.

So far, all we have done is the base and the rear case.


Today we manged to mount the power board, side car, Jaguars (speed controllers), battery, gearbox, and the sprockets.


We also worked on our pneumatics, but that's not finished yet.

On a separate note, we learned how important it is to take notes on the building of the robot. This would have been very helpful in building the second bot that we are working on now.

3-1-11 progress

So far, we have finished the base of the robot.

Today we made the frame that holds the battery, drilled the holes for the compressor case on the rear of the robot, and assembled the second forklift. This special forklift was sent out to have special parts machined and attached by Tyco, one of our sponsors.

TAKE TWO!?!?!?

We have decided to build a second robot!? We didn't have time to drive the first robot for a long enough time to get the controls down, so, with this second robot,we can get some driving in by competition date. We should be able to have it finished by Friday.
Thanks to team 179 "Swampthing" for donating there spare base kit.

Edit: Today we built the base from the donated base kit and mounted the base board that held the electrical components for the robot.

Working on the Robot

The robot's almost finished! We all worked very hard to get to this point and are very proud of our work.

Finishing the Program

We all worked together on Sunday, to finish the Autonomous program, work on the fork lift frame, and work on the mini bot deployment. It was a huge success and the team learned the importance of equal efforts in order to finish a task.
